Job Title: Retail Buyer

We are seeking a skilled Retail Buyer to join our team at New Furniture Gallery. As a Retail Buyer, you will be responsible for purchasing merchandise for resale, negotiating prices with suppliers, and maintaining adequate stock levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Study market reports and sales promotion materials to determine market trends and consumer demand.
  • Arrange products according to planograms to ensure visually appealing displays.
  • Establish and maintain contact with suppliers to negotiate prices and credit terms.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and order merchandise as needed.
  • Review requirements of the establishment and determine the quantity and type of merchandise to purchase.
  • Select and purchase merchandise for resale, considering factors such as quality, price, and availability.
  • Visit trade shows and product design events to stay up-to-date on industry trends and new products.
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in retail or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Client-focused and results-driven.
Working Conditions:
  • Work in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • May require occasional travel to trade shows and supplier meetings.
Language:
  • English is the primary language of communication.
Work Schedule:
  • 30 to 35 hours per week.
