Job Summary

The Pharmacy Technician will provide technical and administrative support to the pharmacist in the delivery of pharmaceutical care and services. This role is part of the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB) team, working in a dynamic environment that supports community services for the population.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care and services.
  • Initiate medication reconciliation and collaborate on pharmacy inventory management.
  • Participate in the updating of the pharmacy supply system database and communicate with the centralized purchasing group regarding drug supply shortages.
  • Plan the orientation of technical staff and develop technical work procedures.
  • Collaborate in the development of schedules and reorganize work in the event of non-replaced absences.

Requirements

  • Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS) in pharmacy technology from a school recognized by the appropriate ministry.
  • Fluency in English and French; fluency in Cree is an asset.

Work Environment

The pharmacy department comprises 3 hub pharmacies, each supporting 2 dispensaries. The team is dynamic and at the heart of important service developments for our communities.
