We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounting Technician to join our Assurance & Accounting team at MNP. As a leading national accounting, tax and business advisory firm in Canada, we provide business strategies and solutions that drive success.

Your Role:

  • You will assist with compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping and tax engagements to ensure the highest level of accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare and maintain government remittances/filings, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable and payroll transactions.
  • Set-up client files, assist with the completion of budgets and complete administrative planning.
  • Perform the month-end and quarter-end close process to ensure timely financial reporting.
  • Maintain, monitor and reconcile GL accounts including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, intercompany and point of sale (POS)/system uploads.
  • Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies and discuss with managers or engagement partners to develop resolutions.
  • Communicate with the government regarding information requests, assessments and installments.
  • Work collaboratively with the client engagement team to deliver exceptional results.
  • Liaise with clients on administrative matters and provide functional advice to other team members.
  • Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Accounting certificate or bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration (accounting or finance major is preferred).
  • 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience preparing T4s and T5s and knowledge of personal and corporate tax.
  • Working knowledge of accounting processes and principles.
  • Experience working with accounting and tax software.

Compensation Package:

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $80,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications, along with a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental coverage, 4% pension matching, flexible work arrangements, and more.
