About the Role

Koch-Glitsch is a global leader in the design and manufacture of state-of-the-art mass transfer and mist elimination products for various industries. We are seeking a skilled Tower Mechanic Level II to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in gas plant and refinery environments, including heights and confined spaces.
  • Handle parts and materials, and identify and install trays, packing, grid, feed pipe, distributors, collectors, and various column pressure internals.
  • Operate cranes and rigging, and work with basic hand tools and equipment such as forklifts, zoom booms, and air compressors.
  • Read and fill out safety paperwork, and follow directions and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with others, and possess a positive and friendly demeanor.
Requirements
  • Minimum of two years' experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Experience with basic hand tools and equipment, and the ability to read and fill out safety paperwork.
  • OSSA Confined Space Entry & Monitoring Certified, H2S Alive Certified, OSSA Fall Protection Certified, and CSTS 20 Certified.
  • Ability to work with others, and possess a positive and friendly demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience installing mass transfer equipment, including trays, packing, demister pads, distributors, etc.
  • Two years or more of industrial plant experience in blinding, opening, cleaning, and repair of operating pressure vessels such as towers, reactors, drums, exchangers, heaters.
  • Prior experience working in confined spaces, and the ability to read simple blueprints.
  • Knowledge of internal and external piping, and experience blinding and deblending process vessels.
  • First Aid (Level A or C), WHMIS, and Basic Safety Orientation (OSSA) certifications.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Respiratory Protective Equipment training will be required.
  • Must be able to perform work wearing personal protective equipment, including rain gear, chemical protective clothing, supplied air, and air purifying respirators.
