We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Project Manager and Senior Scientist to join our team at Linxus Group. With over 40 years of experience in environmental consulting, we provide interdisciplinary expertise to develop solutions for our clients throughout western Canada.

Location: Grande Prairie, AB Office; Full Time Position

Salary: $35-$50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a progressive surface land and environmental consulting firm that offers a range of services including regulatory application, environmental legislation, regulations, and guideline compliance. As an Environmental Project Manager and Senior Scientist, you will be responsible for managing projects from planning to reclamation, ensuring compliance with environmental best practices, commitments, permits, laws, and regulations.

  • Coordinate project planning, logistics, and preparation for field work;
  • Manage project schedules and priorities effectively;
  • Develop, review, implement environmental management plans and effective environmental mitigation measures;
  • Conduct day-to-day environmental inspections of construction sites;
  • Review and direct contractors in the installation of stream crossing structures, water quality and fish salvage, soil stripping, and sediment and erosion control activities;
  • Respond to environmental incidents;
  • Work with management and construction teams to confirm compliance with environmental best practices, commitments, permits, laws, and regulations;
  • Interface with clients and staff to present environmental services related to industry and regulatory requirements;
  • Build and maintain positive client relationships focused on providing top-quality service in regulatory expertise;
  • Prepare proposals including scopes of work and cost estimates for environmental projects;
  • Provide business development and networking opportunities within the oil and gas, mining, and energy industries;
  • Design and implementation of field programs;
  • Prepare technical reports such as wildlife, vegetation, and wetland assessments, pre- and post-construction site assessments, construction monitoring/inspection reports, and watercourse/water body classification and data acquisition;
  • Prepare and implement wildlife management plans, Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs), and erosion and sediment control plans;
  • Consult with environmental regulatory bodies;
  • Documentation and record keeping in accordance with our Quality Management Plan;
  • Review of field and technical reports for content, accuracy, and formatting.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A graduate degree in Environmental Sciences or a related field;
  • 5+ years of relevant environmental and environmental consulting experience;
  • Qualified Aquatic Environmental Specialist (QAES) certification is an asset;
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office;
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License;
  • Status as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
