About the Role

Koru's venture studio is incubating a groundbreaking startup that aims to revolutionize the insurance industry by leveraging seamless connectivity and open data sharing. As the Technical Co-Founder and Head of Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical architecture and development of this innovative platform.

With a strong focus on agility and customer-centricity, you will work closely with the CEO and Investors/Board to align on strategic priorities. Your expertise will be instrumental in designing and implementing technical systems, making strategic decisions around speed to market vs scalability, and leading the technical team to drive success.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead the technical architecture and development of the platform, ensuring scalability, security, and operability.
  2. Make strategic decisions around technology selection, architecture design, and vendor engagement.
  3. Develop and manage the development roadmap, define and track KPIs, and oversee the product development budget.
  4. Build and lead a high-performing technical team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  5. Champion agile practices, ensuring iterative product development in response to customer insights and market feedback.

Requirements

  1. 10+ years of hands-on experience in technology development, with a strong background in software engineering.
  2. Exceptional leadership skills, with 7+ years of experience leading engineering teams.
  3. Experience working across platforms and technologies, including web and mobile apps, SaaS, big data, and AI/ML powered platforms.
  4. Strong architectural design skills, with a proven track record of leading and inspiring engineering teams.
  5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote and global team environment.
