Join Our Team as a Waste Management Graduate Engineer

We are seeking a talented and motivated Waste Management Graduate Engineer to join our team at GHD in Waterloo, Ontario. As a key member of our waste management practice, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including landfills, transfer stations, recycling facilities, and waste-to-energy facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and coordination of construction contract documents, field notes, mark-up drawings, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, payment certification, and reporting.
  • Support contract administration, construction oversight, site inspection/monitoring, and operations support, including with full-time site work for projects.
  • Effectively communicate and connect with team members, contractors, clients, regulatory authorities, and the general public.
  • Support preparation of proposals and strategic business development activities with other team members.

Requirements:

  • Civil or Environmental Engineering degree.
  • Exceptional written communication skills – ability to write technical and non-technical documents.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills – ability to effectively communicate with team members, clients, regulatory authorities, and the general public.
  • Passionate about the future of a diverse waste management industry in Ontario and beyond.
  • Eager to work with multi-discipline engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of the waste management industry, including key players, technologies, and regulations will be an asset.
  • Previous construction or field work experience will be an asset.
  • Valid drivers' licence with driving record in good standing and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Willingness and ability for travel within Ontario and Canada for meetings, site visits, and to conduct field work, as required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint.
