Modern Niagara is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Health and Safety Specialist to manage the safety day-to-day operations of assigned project sites and regions.

Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate safety-related education and training
  • Engage with field operations to influence commitment to HSE requirements
  • Support and lead HSE for specific operational projects
  • Partner with operations on HSE messaging and communications
  • Analyze data to review existing preventative programs and make recommendations
  • Collaborate with field leaders during site inspections
  • Attend HSE applicable meetings
  • Support operations and Senior Leadership in managing risk
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in Health & Safety or a related field
  • Previous 5-10 years of experience in a similar position
  • Credentials to support skillset
  • Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office
  • Effective communicator with ability to develop productive working relationships
  • Well-organized individual with ability to set and manage competing priorities
  • Sense of prioritization and drive to succeed
  • Comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment
  • Resourceful, energetic, and able to operate independently
  • Clean driver's license and ability to travel to job sites
  • Strong interest in growing a career in the construction industry

This role will require travel in and around Edmonton and Northern Alberta. Licenses including, but not limited to: Driver's license, WHIMIS, First Aid/CPR, Working at Heights, any other professional designation to carry out jobs successfully.
