As an Electrical Systems Specialist at Johnson Controls, you will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of electrical control systems. Your duties will include installing conduit wire, cable, equipment, panels, sensors, and various control components and devices. You will also be responsible for fabricating control panels, installing interlocking wiring, and performing wiring check out. Additionally, you will assist in the start-up of systems and participate in job site final walk-throughs. You will prepare as-built markup drawings for the design engineer and ensure that all work is completed in accordance with safety policies and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews blueprints and specifications to ensure that drawings and specifications will function as designed in the environment intended for use.
  • Provides material take-offs for electrical facilities equipment requirements.
  • Constructs electrical control panels, rough and finish wiring, and control systems.
  • Installs system components and wiring in compliance with the NEC, NESC, NFPA, and UFC.
  • Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains electrical control circuits for motors and control devices for various electrical devices.
  • Proposes changes or modifications to plans to enhance operation and efficiency of systems plans and specifications for sanitation facilities.
  • Assists in training, directing, and supervising junior employees and apprentices, inspecting and certifying their work.
  • Ensures accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.
  • Provides technical assistance/emergency response of existing facilities electrical systems.
  • Tests repaired equipment for proper performance.
  • Cleans, lubricates, and performs other maintenance work. Keeps detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance, and repair techniques.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with Johnson Controls' safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.
