Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Analyst to join our Legal Risk and Compliance Department in Calgary, AB. This role will support Firm members with client and file openings, conflicts of interest analysis, and Know-Your-Client rules, among other responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the Firm adheres to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies and procedures. They will identify potential compliance risks and implement strategies to mitigate those risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete conflict searches to ensure all potential conflicts are identified, documented, and communicated to lawyers and other internal stakeholders.
  • Research corporate affiliations on clients and parties through website reviews.
  • Analyze potential conflicts issues independently with limited guidance.
  • Review New Business Intake forms for adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Train legal assistants and other stakeholders on compliance activities and procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • University degree in Law, Business, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a similar role.
  • Knowledge and prior experience in a professional services firm (legal, accounting, consulting).
