About the Job

AECL is seeking two Senior Communications Advisors to join our team in Ottawa, Ontario. As a Senior Communications Advisor, you will play a key role in developing and implementing strategic communications plans to support AECL's business objectives.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement strategic communications plans to support AECL's business objectives
  2. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Indigenous nations and communities, government departments, and local municipalities
  3. Plan, organize, and execute a range of meetings, activities, and events to support AECL's communications objectives
  4. Identify and initiate opportunities for engagement, independently and in collaboration with CNL
  5. Adapt strategies and approaches based on learnings and relationship-building
  6. Develop a full understanding of AECL's strategic agenda and its major files
  7. Provide advice on communications and reporting matters anchored in business reasoning
Requirements
  • University degree in Indigenous Studies, Public Affairs, Communications, Public Policy, Political Science, English, French or related field
  • At least five years of working experience in communications, policy and/or engagement (either stakeholder, community relations, or Indigenous engagement)
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in both English and French
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent time management skills to deliver a range of requests often within very limited timeframes
