Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled SAP Payroll Specialist to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our payroll team, you will be responsible for performing payroll testing and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our payroll processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll Testing: Perform thorough testing of assigned payroll systems, including reviewing and evaluating requirements and design documentation, developing test strategies and comprehensive test documentation, and reporting progress to the Reporting Manager.
  • Test Planning and Execution: Participate in meetings with stakeholders to gather requirements, utilize established test processes and procedures, and test documents, templates, and test tools to implement all test activities.
  • Defect Tracking and Reporting: Develop, implement, and document all testing activities, including test planning, test documentation, test execution, defect tracking, and reporting, for SAP Payroll projects and initiatives.
  • Process Improvement: Analyze industry best practices to recommend improvements to methodology, test environments, and workflow to promote an efficient and cost-effective testing process.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with stakeholders, including HR and Finance teams, to ensure seamless integration of payroll processes and provide expert advice on payroll systems and processes.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with SAP HR/HCM and payroll testing.
  • Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of testing standards and methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile delivery frameworks.
  • Skills: Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, pivots, and databases, and intermediate SQL skills.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as computer science or business administration.
