Job Summary

The City of Ottawa's Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services department is responsible for delivering a wide range of programs and services that promote a healthy, inclusive, and vibrant community. As a Public Skating Attendant, you will play a key role in coordinating and supervising public skating programs at various locations across the city.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and supervise public skating programs, including site setup and teardown
  • Provide direction and guidance to participants, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience
  • Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to participant inquiries
  • Assist with risk management procedures and ensure compliance with City policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Completion of Grade 10
  • Leadership training is an asset
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an administrative or cash handling role, with experience working with the public
  • Previous experience in leading recreation activities and providing direction to participants
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current Standard First Aid certificate
  • Current CPR - 2-rescuer certificate
  • Current AED Operator certificate
  • AODA Customer Service/IASR Training
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, with various shifts available, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends. You will be required to wear a City-provided jacket/vest, fanny pack, and whistle.

Language Requirements

Various language requirements apply, depending on the location. Some positions require English only, French only, or bilingual competencies.

Police Record Check

A Vulnerable Sector Check is required for this position.
