About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Midwife to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a Registered Midwife, you will provide safe, flexible primary care to women and their babies during pregnancy, labour, birth, and the postpartum period.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide complete course of low-risk prenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care
  • Assess risk and abnormal conditions, and conduct normal vaginal deliveries
  • Work in collaboration with other health professionals and consult with or refer to medical specialists as appropriate
  • Provide care to women and newborns in a variety of settings, including hospitals and community clinics
Requirements
  • Baccalaureate degree in midwifery education or equivalent
  • Active practicing license or eligibility for active practice license from the Midwifery Regulatory Council of Nova Scotia
  • Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Neonatal Resuscitation, and Emergency Skills in Obstetrics
  • Recent midwifery practice experience that meets the Midwifery Regulatory Council of Nova Scotia standards for currency of practice
