About the Role

Altum Health, a department within the University Health Network, is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As an integral member of our multi-professional team, you will provide assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders for adult patients with Acquired Brain Injury, predominantly as part of the Neurology Program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and cognitive-communication assessments and interventions for patients with Acquired Brain Injury, including mild traumatic brain injury.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide consultation and education services for patients, families, and caregivers.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based practice guidelines.
  • Provide professional education and presentation services to healthcare professionals and students.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent.
  • Registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
  • Ontario Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (OSLA) membership preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in speech-language pathology, preferably in a neurology or rehabilitation setting.
  • Previous experience with Acquired Brain Injury and mild traumatic brain injury is required.
