Senior Litigation Counsel

$90,186.96 - $151,095.50 per year, commensurate with experience.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Litigation Counsel to join our team in Cobourg, Ontario. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality legal services to clients in criminal law matters, including conducting bail hearings, guilty pleas, and remands. This role requires strong communication and advocacy skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Assist unrepresented clients in criminal or quasi-criminal matters
• Represent clients at bail hearings, guilty pleas, and remands both in-person and remotely
• Assess clients' needs and provide referrals to appropriate services
• Provide summary legal advice to clients in or out of custody

• Lawyer in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
• Strong knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada, Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and criminal law procedures
• Demonstrated commitment to social justice or public interest work
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
