Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Imaging Specialist to join our team at UHN. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for performing various imaging procedures, including computed tomography (CT) scans, and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform CT procedures and general radiography as needed
- Communicate effectively with team members and management personnel
- Participate in professional development, teaching, and educational activities
- Rotate to another UHN site as required
Requirements
- Registration with the Canadian Medical and Radiation Therapy Equipment Regulatory Authority (CMRITO)
- Previous general imaging experience
- Completion of a Basic Life Support (BCLS) program and Level II certification
- One year of recent experience in a related area of responsibility
- Current experience in computed tomography within the last five years
- Ability to demonstrate empathy and sensitivity towards patients in challenging situations
- Demonstrated strong technical skills and image quality
- Knowledge of basic anatomy and pathology
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work accurately under stressful conditions
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving and recognition skills
- Commitment to continuing education
- Excellent teaching skills
- Demonstrated good work performance and attendance history
- Effective computer skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Previous Level 3 CT experience or willingness to be trained
- Membership with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
- Completion of a certified injection course
- Enrollment in the CTIC offered by the CAMRT
