Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Imaging Specialist to join our team at UHN. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for performing various imaging procedures, including computed tomography (CT) scans, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform CT procedures and general radiography as needed
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management personnel
  • Participate in professional development, teaching, and educational activities
  • Rotate to another UHN site as required

Requirements

  • Registration with the Canadian Medical and Radiation Therapy Equipment Regulatory Authority (CMRITO)
  • Previous general imaging experience
  • Completion of a Basic Life Support (BCLS) program and Level II certification
  • One year of recent experience in a related area of responsibility
  • Current experience in computed tomography within the last five years
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy and sensitivity towards patients in challenging situations
  • Demonstrated strong technical skills and image quality
  • Knowledge of basic anatomy and pathology
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work accurately under stressful conditions
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and recognition skills
  • Commitment to continuing education
  • Excellent teaching skills
  • Demonstrated good work performance and attendance history
  • Effective computer skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous Level 3 CT experience or willingness to be trained
  • Membership with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
  • Completion of a certified injection course
  • Enrollment in the CTIC offered by the CAMRT
