Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Grocery Clerk Supervisor to join our team at Brooks Grocery. As a key member of our store operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our sales floor and ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign sales workers to duties and ensure that they are adequately trained to perform their tasks.
  • Hire and train new staff members, or arrange for their training, to ensure that they meet our high standards.
  • Plan and develop strategies to improve sales volumes and merchandising efforts.
  • Order merchandise and maintain accurate inventory levels to meet customer demand.
  • Establish work schedules and ensure that all staff members are aware of their responsibilities.
  • Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters to inform management decisions.
  • Resolve customer complaints and supply shortages in a timely and professional manner.
  • Organize and maintain inventory levels to ensure that our store is always well-stocked.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of our sales floor staff to ensure that they are working efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a retail or sales environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Work Term: Permanent.
  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 35 hours per week.
