About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Liquor Store Manager to join our team at Otter Co-op. As a key member of our retail operations team, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of our liquor store, providing strategic direction, and ensuring exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operation and management of the liquor store, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to team members, promoting a positive and motivated work environment.
  • Develop and implement effective merchandising strategies to drive sales and improve customer engagement.
  • Ensure the store's housekeeping, sanitation, and maintenance standards are met, and all programs are implemented and managed.
  • Directly responsible for ensuring the store adheres to BCLDB operating guidelines and all government regulations.
  • Attend and participate in commodity, leadership, and safety meetings.
  • Directly responsible for team member relations, including hiring, training, and development, and performance management.
  • Provide leadership in the areas of Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S).
  • Contribute to the team in living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community, and Excellence.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in progressive retail management positions with a proven successful track record.
  • Liquor, retail, and/or guest service background preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the ability to manage computer files efficiently.
  • Solid basic math skills and ability to read and understand financial reports.
  • Effective interpersonal, leadership, and communications skills.
  • Self-starter with motivation and ability to work in a busy environment.
  • Effective planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain relationships both internally and externally to support the organization.
  • Enjoy working with the public and strive to provide a consistent and superior guest service experience.
  • Must have open availability and be able to work a variety of shifts, 7 days a week, including early mornings, afternoons, late evenings, weekdays, weekends, and stat holidays.
  • Valid Serving it Right Certificate required.
