About the Role
  • This full-time position involves working in a veterinary clinic environment and requires strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
  • Disease diagnosis and treatment of animals through physical examinations or laboratory tests
  • Prescription medication, setting bones, dressing wounds, or performing surgery as needed
  • Vaccination of animals to prevent and treat diseases
  • Advising clients on animal care, including feeding, housing, behavior, breeding, hygiene, and general care
  • Conducting research related to areas such as animal nutrition, healthcare products development, and disease prevention and control
  • Enforcing government regulations in disease control and food production, including animal or animal-based food inspection
  • Performing routine, emergency, and post-mortem examinations
  • Providing a range of veterinary services, including obstetrics, dentistry, and euthanasia
  • Supervising animal health technologists and animal care workers
Requirements
  • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
  • Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and hand-eye coordination
  • Able to stand for extended periods, bend, crouch, kneel, and work under pressure
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, accuracy, dependability, efficiency, flexibility, initiative, judgement, reliability, teamwork, and values/ethics
