The Island Health team is seeking a Family Physician with expertise in Addictions Medicine to join our team at the Comox Valley Nursing Centre.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide team-based care in a meaningful and exciting field, working with a multidisciplinary team including admin, NP's, RN's, and SW. The Comox Valley Nursing Centre is a service within Island Health's Primary Care portfolio, emphasizing partnerships between clients, family, and healthcare professionals.
As a Family Physician with Addictions Medicine skills, you will have the opportunity to work with the Addiction Medicine Consult Service at the Comox Valley Hospital and provide outreach-based services at identified sites in the community.
Benefits
May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA), including:
- Recruitment Incentive - $10,000
- Fee Premium - 6.93%
- Annual Flat Fee - $42,000
- Rural CME starting at $2,000 per annum in year 3&4 in community, increasing to a maximum of $4,000 per annum after 4 years

The physician community is welcoming and collegial, with 19 full-service medical clinics, two walk-in clinics, and a military base clinic. We are currently served by the Island Health run Comox Valley Hospital, a 60-bed acute care facility.
