Key Responsibilities- Hiring and Supervision: Lead and manage a team of 3-4 staff members, overseeing their performance, providing guidance, and ensuring they have the necessary resources to excel in their roles.
- Grounds Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive plans for grounds maintenance, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Labour and Materials Estimation: Accurately estimate labour and materials required for landscape construction projects, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence.
- Construction Management: Oversee the construction of decks, decorative or retaining walls, and other landscape features, ensuring high-quality results and adherence to safety protocols.
- Work Records and Logs: Maintain accurate records and logs of work completed, including materials used, labour hours, and any issues encountered.
- Procurement and Supply Chain Management: Requisition and order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed, ensuring timely delivery and quality control.
- Problem-Solving and Technical Advice: Provide technical guidance and support to staff, resolving work-related problems and recommending improvements to productivity and product quality.
- Work Scheduling and Procedures: Establish and maintain efficient work schedules and procedures, ensuring seamless operations and minimizing downtime.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment, with attention to detail and physical stamina required
- Personal Suitability: Strong initiative, judgement, and team player skills
This is a permanent, full-time position with a 30-hour workweek. The language of work is English.
