Physiotherapist - Primary Health Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Physiotherapist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Physiotherapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our health services.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in physiotherapy, with experience working with clients with chronic pain. You will be responsible for developing and implementing exercise programs, providing guidance and support to clients, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to determine team goals and objectives.

About You- Bachelor's degree in physiotherapy from an accredited university
- Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists
- Must be eligible for membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
- Experience working with people in chronic pain required; if no applicants meet this requirement, less experience may be considered
- Valid driver's license and daily access to a reliable car for travel for work, required to work at multiple sites and travel between various community locations throughout the catchment area.
- ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) Exercise Specialist Certification or CSEP an asset
- Preferred experience in partnership development, stakeholder collaboration, and community development
- Understanding of population health, health promotion strategies, and behavior change principles
- In-depth knowledge of local district health authority and community based services.
- Demonstrates person-centered / family-focused, diversity relevant approaches to care
- Well developed interpersonal, teamwork, oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrates flexibility, adaptability and willingness to change
- Demonstrates innovation in program planning, implementation and evaluation, and quality improvement, planning skills
- Computer skills (MS Office, e-mail and internet)
- Annual CPR-AED certification and annual WHMIS training and certification
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
- Competencies in other languages preferred; French an asset

Hours- Long assignment full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
- Shifts include days, nights and weekends
- Travel to various sites may be required
$33.96 - $42.89 Hourly
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
