Physiotherapist Opportunity
A physiotherapist is required to work in a team-focused environment, utilizing behavior change methods, case management, and client-centered approaches to provide exercise programs and support for clients with chronic pain.
About the RoleThe physiotherapist will work with Primary Health Care staff, family physicians, and other healthcare providers to provide guidance and support for clients, including information about appropriate supports and programs that meet health and wellness needs.
- Develop and implement exercise programs for clients with chronic pain
- Collaborate with Primary Health Care staff and other healthcare providers to provide comprehensive care
- Provide guidance and support for clients, including information about appropriate supports and programs
- Lead chronic pain self-management groups
- Travel to various community locations throughout the zone
We are looking for a physiotherapist with the following qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in physiotherapy from an accredited university
- Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists
- Eligibility for membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
- Experience working with people in chronic pain
- Valid driver's license and daily access to a reliable car for travel
- ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) Exercise Specialist Certification or CSEP an asset
- Preferred experience in partnership development, stakeholder collaboration, and community development
- Understanding of population health, health promotion strategies, and behavior change principles
- In-depth knowledge of local district health authority and community-based services
- Demonstrates person-centered/family-focused, diversity-relevant approaches to care
- Well-developed interpersonal, teamwork, oral, and written communication skills
- Demonstrates flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to change
- Demonstrates innovation in program planning, implementation, and evaluation, and quality improvement, planning skills
- Computer skills (MS Office, email, and internet)
This is a long-assignment full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. Shifts include days, nights, and weekends. The hourly rate is $33.96 - $42.89.
