Grounds Maintenance and Grass Cutter Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Grounds Maintenance and Grass Cutter to join our team in Ottawa, Ontario. As a key member of our grounds maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the beauty and upkeep of our community's outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Spread top soil, lay sod, plant flowers, grass, shrubs, and trees
  • Cut grass, rake, aerate, dethatch, fertilize, and weed gardens, prune shrubs and trees, and perform other maintenance duties as directed by supervisor
  • Maintain lawns and grass along roadsides
  • Operate and maintain power mowers, trimmers, blowers, stand-on equipment, chain saws, electric clippers, pruning saws, and other landscape maintenance equipment
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements:

  • Attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
  • Willing to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required
  • Mechanically inclined is an asset
  • Driver's license is an asset
  • Able to work in all weather conditions
