Birch Narrows Dene Nation Development Inc. (BNDDI) Job Opportunity

Birch Narrows Dene Nation Development Inc. (BNDDI) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to serve as its Chief Executive Officer. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic organization that is dedicated to driving economic growth and development in the Birch Narrows Dene Nation community.

About the Role

The Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of BNDDI's business strategy, building and maintaining strong relationships with partners, and ensuring that the benefits of BNDDI's ventures are directed back to the Birch Narrows Dene Nation community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement business strategies to drive economic growth and development in the Birch Narrows Dene Nation community
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, including Indigenous communities, industry leaders, government agencies, and key stakeholders
  • Ensure that the benefits of BNDDI's ventures are directed back to the Birch Narrows Dene Nation community, including creating employment and training opportunities for community members
  • Provide regular updates to the Board of Directors and shareholders (BNDN) ensuring transparency, accountability, and adherence to BNDDI's governance structure
  • Implement and monitor strategies to mitigate operational, financial, and environmental risks in all business activities
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in senior leadership roles, preferably within Indigenous business development or economic development organizations
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale projects and investments, particularly in industries such as mining and exploration, energy, and construction
  • Strong understanding of environmental, social, and governance principles
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Indigenous leadership, ensuring cultural and community alignment
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and understanding of the unique opportunities and challenges they face
  • Commitment to sustainable development and community advancement
  • Understanding of Indigenous business and community economic development corporations
