Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse

We are seeking a Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team in Long Term Care at Fellburn Care Centre in Burnaby, BC. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide person-centered care to our residents, promoting their autonomy, respect, privacy, dignity, diversity, and access to information.
Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care, including wound care, dementia care, and palliative care, in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards of nursing practice.
- Collect information from various sources, using skills of observation, communication, and physical assessment, to enable the provision of quality care.
- Document relevant observations, assessments, and interventions, including resident/client and family teaching and evaluation of care using appropriate technological tools.
- Communicate resident/client assessments and changes to Physicians, Resident/Client Care Coordinator, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Participate in care planning, supporting decision making and person-centered care.
- Act as an advocate to protect and promote residents'/client's rights.
- Work in partnership with Licensed Practical Nurses and other interdisciplinary team members by sharing information, demonstrating, and/or providing guidance on clinical tasks.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, gathering information, providing input into proposed policies, and revising current policies.
Graduate of an approved School of Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing. Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). One (1) year's recent, related gerontological nursing experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Current Level 1 First Aid certificate.
