Overview


CHEO, a leading healthcare organization in Ontario, seeks a seasoned Technical Systems Architect to drive the design and implementation of complex technical systems. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in cloud computing, health data integration, and relational database management.



Job Description

  • Lead the development and maintenance of architectural system design documents and diagrams, ensuring seamless integration of software and hardware configurations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support clinical data integration, applying health standards (HL7, FHIR) and managing complex datasets.
  • Analyze proposed changes to internal and external business processes, determining their impact on users and their information systems, platforms, and networks.
  • Evaluate proposed changes for their potential to enhance registry operations, lower operating costs, and maintain information security and privacy.
  • Present change proposals to managers, directors, medical directors, and project steering committees.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge and expertise in cloud computing technologies and platforms, health data integration, and related applications and standards.

Salary and Benefits

We offer an attractive salary range of $100,000 - $140,000 per year, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including company pension, and competitive vacation time.



Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) – Data Management Association (DAMA).
  • Demonstrated expertise and experience with relational database management system, including database design, data modeling, and data integration (Microsoft SQL).
  • 10 years of experience in a healthcare or maternal-child health setting.
