Senior Software Development Engineer, Digital Acceleration

Amazon Digital Acceleration is a critical component of the company's digital commerce platform, powering ordering, subscriptions, and device management for Prime, Amazon Video, Music, Audible, Alexa, and Kindle. As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will lead projects involving multiple teams in all aspects of the SDLC using an agile process. You will have the opportunity to make a long-lasting impact on the development of scalable and reliable digital acceleration services.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and upholding the operational excellence bar for tier-1 digital acceleration services. You will need to think outside the box to quickly come up with innovative solutions to problems that are unique to Amazon. A successful candidate will have an established background in developing real-time scalable systems, a strong technical ability, excellent deep dive and troubleshooting skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary for this position ranges from $150,700/year up to $251,700/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
