Capital Projects Manager

We are seeking a skilled Capital Projects Manager to join our team at CCS Professional Services.
This is an initial 1-year contract with 2 option years, requiring the individual to be on-site at our Regina offices.
About the RoleThe Capital Projects Manager will oversee major capital and operating projects throughout their life cycle (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure), including project monitoring, financial analysis, and management, as well as appropriate reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Manage projects with multiple considerations, including financial impacts, environmental regulations, and compliance requirements;
- Report to the Manager, Power Production Project Delivery Office, within the Power Production Business Unit;
- Work with employees and vendors to ensure high-quality service provision;
- Attend regular meetings and training programs at client facilities;
- Travel to various project locations in Saskatchewan as necessary;
- Prepare project management deliverables and reports consistent with reporting requirements;
- Deliver quality projects within scope, on time, and on/under budget;
- Integrate engineering and construction supervision staff in the planning and execution of project deliverables;
- Meet with plant operations staff over the entire project life cycle;
- Assist or lead Asset Management group in preparing project authorization documents;
- Manage internal and external permitting and authorization issues associated with assigned projects;
- Review progress claims for recommending or approving progress payments;
- Arrange for field-testing of materials and construction works;
- Facilitate project meetings;
- Lead or participate in developing RFQs and/or RFPs for acquiring services, equipment, and materials;
- Manage contract negotiations with vendors as necessary;
- Ensure construction work complies with Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety Legislation;
- Ensure supply vendors and contractors adhere to contractual obligations, including quality control requirements;
- Develop and execute project management plans suitable for assigned work;
The ideal candidate should have experience in managing multidisciplinary projects for heavy industry and possess a proven record of accomplishment in project management, including all aspects of the project life cycle.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience as a Project Manager, Principal Engineer, or Senior Associate Engineer in leading multidisciplinary projects;
- Project management experience that includes initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and control, closure;
- A Bachelor's Degree or a Bachelor of Science Degree in one or more engineering disciplines, such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Civil Engineering;
- PMP designation is preferred;
- Experience in design and/or construction management and/or commissioning related to power generation facilities or heavy industry projects;
- Project experience in a variety of generating station types, including coal-fired, gas-fired, hydroelectric, and wind;
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
