About the Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Utility Worker to join their team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Cleaning, mopping, and dusting all areas within the hospital
  • Performing floor care tasks such as scrubbing and waxing floors
  • Shampooing carpets and chairs
  • Removing waste and hazardous materials
  • Responding to chemical spills and other emergencies

In addition to these duties, you will also be responsible for laundry tasks, room set-ups, window cleaning, salt application during winter months, isolation room cleaning, flood and blood spill clean ups.

About You

We are looking for individuals who possess excellent communication skills and have experience in cleaning and floor care. Preference will be given to those with competencies in languages other than English, particularly French.

To be successful in this role, you must be able to work independently and as part of a team. You should also be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and be willing to adapt to changing situations.
