This is a permanent, full-time position with Employment and Social Development Canada.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Lawyer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to our organization on a wide range of matters, including employment law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct research and analysis on complex legal issues and provide recommendations to management.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Represent the organization in legal proceedings, including court cases and tribunals.
  • Prepare and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and policies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that legal considerations are taken into account in decision-making.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations and provide guidance to management on how to comply.
Requirements
  • Membership in the Canadian Bar Association.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and a large workload. The position requires attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
