Millwright Technician

Champion Petfoods is seeking a skilled Journeyman Millwright to join our team in Acheson, AB. As a key player in our maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production equipment.

• Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and perform repairs to minimize downtime
• Install, maintain, and repair production-related equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
• Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics to determine work procedures
• Perform basic level welding, brazing, flame cutting, and electric arc welding
• Ensure equipment modifications are conducted to minimize risk of cross-contamination and ensure product quality and safety

• Journeyman Millwright certification, plus three to five years' related work experience
• Ability to diagnose high sequenced machinery and determine root causes of problems
• Good organizational abilities, including planning and execution skills, with attention to detail
• Effective communication skills and ability to work within a team environment
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken

• Work environment is in a pet food distribution centre, with exposure to dust, noise, and fluctuating temperatures
• Overtime and Saturdays as required
• Must be able to physically inspect company equipment, property, and assets
