Auto Bodily Injury Claims Examiner

This role involves investigating and evaluating low to moderate complexity claims to determine coverage for policyholders and claimants. As an Auto Bodily Injury Claims Examiner with Travelers, you will handle various types of claims, apply policy and company guidelines, manage customer relations, and more.
Key Responsibilities- Handle low to moderate severity and complexity claims.
- Contact insured parties within guidelines.
- Provide clear explanations of claims process and coverage.
- Act as primary contact for customers.
- Participate in extended hours duties.
- Advise underwriting on relevant information.
- Investigate and evaluate claims to determine coverage, damages, and liability.
- Document claims files according to best practices.
- Manage claims inventory and settlements.
- Review policy conditions, provisions, and endorsements.
- Review and analyze invoices supporting payments.
- Maintain diary system for proactive file management.
- Identify salvage and subrogation opportunities.
- Conduct necessary investigations for each loss handled.
- Research case law for casualty claims.
- Establish claim and expense reserves.
- Negotiate claim settlements within authority limits.
- Control damages through cost containment tools.
- Manage files in compliance with regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Identify potential subrogation opportunities.
- Handle inside claims nationwide virtually.
- Travel may be required occasionally.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- University Degree/College Diploma preferred.
- CIP program enrollment is an asset.
- Proficiency in Windows-based programs.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Adjusters license as required.
- Customer service orientation.
- Ownership attitude and customer centricity.
- Strong negotiation and math skills.
- Hardware and software skills for claims technology.
