About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mortgage Underwriter to join our team at Strive Capital Corporation. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for reviewing, processing, and approving mortgage applications while ensuring strict adherence to our residential mortgage underwriting policy and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and build strong relationships with originators and stakeholders
  • Evaluate and approve or decline mortgage applications based on authorized lending limits and company guidelines
  • Assist other underwriters and fulfillment teams with questions and concerns
  • Verify and validate customer eligibility and risk documentation for accuracy
  • Analyze and submit recommendations for credit applications that exceed authorized limits
  • Ensure compliance with mortgage insurer guidelines and company policies
  • Resolve escalated credit issues and communicate credit decisions to stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date on applicable legislation and company policies
Requirements
  • University degree is an asset
  • Previous single-family residential mortgage underwriting experience
  • Strong knowledge of residential mortgage underwriting principles and risk management
  • Ability to work in a high-volume environment and make accurate decisions
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying up-to-date on industry changes
