Senior Financial Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our team at Hudbay Minerals Inc. in Princeton, BC. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for supporting the processes, systems, and reports that drive accurate and complete financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Complete month-end journal entries and reconciliations, adhering to segregation of duties and utilizing technology to digitize manual financial processes.
- Manage cash and execute payments, providing timely and accurate inputs for weekly cash forecasting.
- Collaborate with Marketing to ensure timely receipt of payments and tracking of advance payments.
- Prepare and submit GST remittances to CRA in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with business units to facilitate intercompany cross-charges.
- Ensure entries adhere to Hudbay accounting policies and IFRS standards.
- Support the transition from Great Plains Dynamics to SAP, including user acceptance testing.
- Complete IT integration and access testing to move site to Hudbay standards.
- Assist in quarterly reporting, preparing various reporting templates for site and corporate teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce or Business Administration with a concentration in Finance or Accounting.
- Professional Accounting Designation (CPA or CA) preferred.
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in accounting/finance business function.
- Experience in a complex accounting environment in a medium to large public corporation.
- Strong computer software aptitude and experience using an ERP or accounting software, as well as advanced MS Office Excel skills.
- Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and have access to personal transportation.
- Work involves a set schedule on-site at Copper Mountain Mine, Monday to Friday.
- Work consists of a team environment with regularly scheduled and ad-hoc meetings.
- Frequent exposure to sitting at a computer doing work online.
- Work includes working near others with a high degree of social interaction.
- Role may operate in a potentially stressful environment caused by constant requests from several people.
- Exposure to dust and temperature fluctuations.
- Occasional exposure to fluctuations in sounds, noise, and vibration levels.
$110K - $130K per annum.
