The Copper Mountain mine currently produces approximately 100 million pounds of copper equivalent per year. With a future mill expansion and the integration of New Ingerbelle, the Copper Mountain Mine is expected to produce approximately 140 million pounds of copper equivalent per year over the first 20 years of its 32-year mine life based on reserves. The Opportunity
Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position is a 5x2, Monday to Friday, day shift schedule.

Copper Mountain Mine is located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia at the center of the scenic Similkameen Valley. Princeton is a community-oriented town with a diverse offering of activities, especially for those who love the outdoors. Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city of Vancouver and the Okanagan.
Summary
Reporting to the Finance Superintendent, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the processes, systems and reports that assist in generating accurate and complete financial reporting. This role will be a key player in optimizing financial processes and procedures to be SoX compliant with a primary focus on accelerating the accounting close process. Also, The SFA will be responsible for continuously improving the team performance by providing required levels of Accounting and Reporting specialist support and service such that the BCBU accurately meets its financial and statutory obligations.
Responsibilities
Completion of month end journal entries and reconciliations, adhering to appropriate segregation of duties and utilizing technology to digitize manual financial processes. Cash management and payment execution, including providing inputs for weekly cash forecasting in a timely and accurate manner. Working closely with Marketing to ensure timely receipt of payments and tracking of advance payments. Preparing month GST remittance and submitting payments to CRA in a timely manner. Communicating effectively with other business units to facilitate intercompany cross charges that will eliminate upon consolidation. Ensure entries booked adhere to Hudbay accounting policies and accounting standards under IFRS. Provide requests to various other teams in BCBU Finance- Site and Hudbay Corporate, such as FP&A, Tax and Treasury as needed. Support the transition from Great Plains Dynamics to SAP, including user acceptance testing. Completion of IT integration and access testing to move site to Hudbay standards, including moving to a roles-based access matrix. Assisting in quarterly reporting function, including preparing various reporting templates for site and corporate teams.Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Business Administration with a concentration in Finance or Accounting, Professional Accounting Designation (CPA or CA) preferred, Minimum of five to ten (5-10) years of experience in accounting/finance business function, Experience in a complex accounting environment in a medium to large public corporation, Experience working in an industrial setting is an asset Strong computer software aptitude and experience using an ERP or accounting software as well as advanced MS Office excel skills,, Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and have access to personal transportation.Required Skills
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and non-verbal). Organized and detail-oriented to create accurate and complete working papers. Confident liaising with other groups to deliver information to both financial and non-financial teams. Demonstrates the ability to take ownership of issues and tasks through to resolution.. Resourceful; willing to take action and think creatively when faced with a task that is not routine Ability to think critically and showcase problem solving skills when faced with challenges. Innovative; wants to change how we have done things in the past and believes in continuous improvement. Knowledge of BC sales tax and carbon tax would be considered an asset.Working Conditions
Work involves a set work schedule on-site at Copper Mountain Mine, Monday to Friday, Work consists of a team environment with regularly scheduled and ad-hoc meetings, Frequent exposure to sitting at a computer doing work online, Work includes working near others with a high degree of social interaction, Role may operate in a potentially stressful environment caused by constant requests from several people causing uncertainty and ambiguity, Exposure to dust and temperature fluctuations, Occasional exposure to fluctuations in sounds, noise, vibration levels, Required to meet pre-employment testing requirements.Rate of Pay
$110K - $130K / annum.
