We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to children in our School Age Early Childhood program.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional care and supervision to children, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
- Develop and implement engaging play-based learning activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
- Build strong relationships with families, staff, and volunteers through effective communication and collaboration.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive environment that supports the needs of all children, including those with exceptional behaviors and additional needs.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in early childhood education.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR (Level C) certification or completion of certification within the first 90 days of employment.
- Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Up-to-date immunizations or equivalent in accordance with local public health and Child Care Early Years Act.
- Availability to work Monday to Friday, with hours per week, between 6:30am and 6:00pm, including split-shifts.
- Passion for working with children and providing quality play-based learning.
- Well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills with families, staff, and volunteers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 kg (44 lbs.), and participate in physical activities.
- Ability to work outdoors for at least 2 hours daily, year-round, in all weather conditions.
- Registered Early Childhood Educator or actively enrolled in an Early Childhood Education program, Child & Youth Work/Care Diploma, Rec & Leisure Diploma, or Bachelor of Education.
