Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Behavior Support Specialist to join our team at Inspiretci. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing skills acquisition programs that focus on teaching adaptive skills, including personal care and hygiene, academics, and social skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement facility-wide behavioral programs and individualized behavioral protocols, skill acquisition programs, and complete necessary documentation.
  • Model appropriate behavior, provide positive reinforcement and corrective feedback daily.
  • Assist residents in Activities of Daily Living, including bathing, transfers, toileting, and physical assistance.
  • Administer resident's medication programs.
  • Interact with residents' family and visitors in the facility and on home visits.
  • Complete all daily needed documentation, including behavioral data, shift summaries, house charts, checklists, medication administration records, and incident reports.

Qualifications:

  • College diploma or university degree in Autism and Behavioral Sciences, Developmental Services, Human Services, Police Foundations, Psychology, Criminology, or other relevant disciplines.
  • Energetic and self-motivated, willing to learn and apply new knowledge.
  • Available to work a rotating schedule.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well within a team.
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Experience working with individuals with complex behaviors (asset).
  • Understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (asset).
  • Current First-Aid and CPR certification.
  • Candidates must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
