About the Role:

The Government of Saskatchewan is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Crops Extension Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the Regional Services Branch, you will play a critical role in providing technical expertise and leadership in crop production management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive technical expertise in crop production management to farmers, producer groups, and industry stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership in developing, implementing, and promoting crops extension priorities, including the ministry's Crop Report.
  • Identify and prioritize crops-related research and extension initiatives to increase the adoption of new agricultural technologies and practices.
  • Collaborate with ministry partners to deliver client-focused services on program awareness, public trust, environment, research, and technology transfer.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in agriculture with a major in agronomy, soil science, or plant science, combined with extensive experience in crop production.
  • Professional Agrologist designation or eligibility to obtain designation with the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists.
  • Valid class 5 driver's license.
