Mainframe Infrastructure Performance Optimization
Axelon Services Corporation seeks a seasoned Mainframe Infrastructure Performance Optimization Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, efficiency, and observability of our mainframe systems. Your expertise in performance optimization, data analysis, and monitoring will be instrumental in identifying and resolving capacity and performance exceptions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Observability and Monitoring: Implement and maintain comprehensive observability solutions to monitor mainframe performance metrics, ensuring timely identification of potential issues.
- Performance Analysis: Analyze performance data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement, developing and implementing performance tuning strategies to optimize system performance.
- Data-Driven Insights: Collect and analyze system performance data, generating reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights for operations, engineering, and management decision making.
Requirements:
- 10+ Years of Mainframe Experience: Proficiency in performance management for large, multi-processor, multi-LPAR, Parallel Sysplex environments utilizing z/OS.
- Performance Monitoring Tools: Experience with mainframe monitoring tools and performance tuning techniques.
- Strong Analytical Skills: Advanced user of MS Excel (Charts, Pivot tables, Vlookups, PowerPivot) and PowerPoint, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Collaboration and Communication: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational skills and a high sense of urgency.
Preferred Qualifications:
- IBM SCRT Reporting (plus): Experience with iZPCA Product.
- Proficiency in Cobol, Job Control Language (JCL), DB2, REXX programming: Python and/or Java experience on the mainframe is a plus.
