About the Role
Taseko Mines Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer, Supply Chain to join our team at the Gibraltar Mine in McLeese Lake, BC.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the procurement process for major purchases and services, ensuring transparency and compliance with company policies and standards.
- Manage the request for proposal process, including planning, preparation, and evaluation of commercial proposals.
- Assess business risk and make recommendations to mitigate exposure to the organization.
- Present alternatives and possible solutions to address and resolve current or potential issues that may impact stakeholders.
- Manage and close out contracts when necessary.
Requirements
- Advance knowledge in complex procurement and tendering processes.
- Highly effective skills in organization, planning, and communication, and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Proactively demonstrates initiative, accountability, and diligence.
- Strong time management and organizational skills and the ability to multitask on several projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Advance knowledge and understanding of contracts lifecycle management.
- Experience in a mining or industrial construction environment is considered an asset.
- Experience and working knowledge in a union environment would be advantageous.
Education
- A diploma or business-related bachelor's degree.
- 3 to 5 years of sourcing, bid evaluation, selection, negotiation, and execution of various types of purchase agreements, preferably in the mining industry.
- SCMP designation or equivalent preferred.
- Intermediate excel skills.
