This position is located in Vancouver, BC, and requires a strong understanding of commercial P&C wording, products, appetite, and philosophies, along with underwriting guidelines, systems, and procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Generating and presenting new ideas and solutions to challenges through effective use of critical thinking skills
  • Contributing to the development of strategies and corporate guidelines to effectively control insurance risks and positively impact profitability
  • Supporting system and tool enhancements, as well as collaborating with other departments to seek creative solutions
  • Fostering the growth and development of our Digital Underwriting tool kit, including Contact 2.0 and our Underwriting Advisor
  • Delivering digital guidelines and tools to improve technology and support distribution to increase profitability and ease of doing business
  • Exploring and leading initiatives to create and evolve digital underwriting solutions within Intact's suite of online underwriting tools and resources
  • Providing analysis to assist in the planning, design, and delivery of current and new digital solutions

Requirements include:

  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant P&C Commercial Lines Underwriting experience
  • Strong knowledge of commercial P&C wording, products, appetite, and philosophies, along with underwriting guidelines, systems, and procedures
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to consider different perspectives and approaches
  • Ability to identify and recommend learning and training opportunities, and propose solutions and action plans
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to collaborate, promote partnerships, and build effective work relationships
  • Self-driven and able to work effectively under pressure, with a good understanding of Intact underwriting systems and office software applications
  • Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation or working towards the designation

We offer a competitive salary range of $88,000 - $120,000, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including a financial rewards program, employee share purchase plan, and extensive flex pension and benefits package.
