About the Role
The Registered Practical Nurse will play a vital role in enhancing the effective management and quality of nursing practice at Southbridge Care Homes. Reporting to the Director of Care, this position will be responsible for ensuring resident care is provided in accordance with established nursing standards and principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess residents and develop, implement, review, and evaluate resident care plans, monitoring their health and noting changes in condition.
- Process and implement physician orders, ensuring observance of required techniques in nursing care.
- Organize and direct functions and activities related to the provision of care to residents, including restorative care and palliative care as required.
- Plan, direct, supervise, and evaluate the work of nursing and personal care staff assigned to the unit, orienting and training new personnel and participating in in-service education.
Requirements
- Appropriate current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario required.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario.
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and healthcare practices, as well as knowledge in Infection Control Practices.
- Effective human relation skills and demonstrated commitment to working with seniors.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
