About the Role

We are seeking an experienced IT Solution Architect to join our team at Intact Financial Corporation. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our technology landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate solution definition and implementation across the company, working closely with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Participate in product selection and evaluation, ensuring alignment with business requirements and technology standards.
  • Develop and maintain architecture standards and patterns, collaborating with architects and development teams.
  • Research, evaluate, and select software technology and product standards, designing standard configurations and ensuring compliance with enterprise architecture.
  • Work with the enterprise architect to define metrics for measuring and demonstrating technology value, driving business outcomes and innovation.
  • Manage and develop architecture for a broader scope of projects, collaborating with application architects and development teams.
  • Monitor the current-state solution portfolio, identifying deficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the enterprise application portfolio, aligning with business requirements and technology trends.
  • Consult with development projects to ensure alignment with architecture and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Liaise with business stakeholders and teams to review solutions and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Participate in the development of roadmaps and strategies, driving business outcomes and innovation.
  • Ensure the goals of the business are aligned with technology solutions, driving value and impact.
  • Define and document application architectures, collaborating with product tech leads and development teams.
  • Act as a technical mentor and subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to development teams.
  • Document solution architecture design and analysis work, ensuring knowledge sharing and reuse.
  • Assist in the development of business vision and communication, collaborating with stakeholders and teams.

Requirements

  • University degree in Information Technology or Software Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in architecture, including microservices, APIs, event-driven architecture, application architecture, distributed architecture, and data architecture.
  • Insurance experience is a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated experience with modeling languages and techniques.
  • Ability to quickly comprehend new technologies and understand long-term and short-term perspectives.
  • Strong technical background, including platforms, languages, protocols, frameworks, and open-source technologies.
  • Experience with architecture frameworks and certifications is a plus.
  • Team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Understanding of business operations and ability to communicate with various stakeholders.
  • Driven by challenges and results, with a proactive and organized approach.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and understanding of business impacts.
  • Comfortable working in a constantly evolving technological environment.
  • Excellent team player with leadership skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
