About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Harbinger Network Inc. as a Chief Sheet Metal Estimator. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the estimating process and developing strategic plans to drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Estimating and Bid Management
  • Develop and manage estimating processes and procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Lead the bid process, including developing bid strategies and managing bid teams.
Team Leadership
  • Direct and manage the activities of the estimating team, including performance management, training, and development.
  • Mentor and coach team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
Business Development
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure a strong network of partners.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive growth and revenue.
Estimate Preparation and Approval
  • Oversee the preparation of estimates, including developing unit costs, labor rates, and productivity factors.
  • Approve final estimates prior to submission.
Proposal Evaluation and Recommendation
  • Evaluate and recommend proposals, including assessing company risk and opportunity evaluation with clients.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the company's strategic vision and goals.
Communication and Presentation
  • Lead presentations to management and clients, including developing and delivering persuasive and effective presentations.
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Requirements
  1. 15+ years of experience in sheet metal estimating and bid management.
  2. Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to guide and mentor a team of contributors.
  3. Excellent organization skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  4. Strong mathematical skills and analytical skills, including the ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings.
  5. Ability to use cost-estimating software to prepare cost quotes and bids.
  6. Post-secondary degree or diploma in construction, engineering, or a related field.
