Key Responsibilities- Construction and Repair: Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements, prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, and measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials.
- Building Foundations: Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
- Installation and Maintenance: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware, and maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures.
- Certifications and Licenses: Carpenter Trade Certification, Working at Heights Training, and Occupational Health and Safety Certificate.
- Equipment and Machinery Experience: Hand tools, steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, and safety vest.
- Personal Qualities: Accurate, client-focused, judgement, reliability, team player, values and ethics, and punctuality.
This is a physically demanding role that requires working at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy and dusty environments. You will be required to work outdoors and in various locations, including construction sites and renovation projects.
