Job Title: Environmental Compliance Specialist

RONA Inc. is seeking an experienced Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Asset Protection department, you will be responsible for supporting the maintenance and development of our hazardous materials and environmental compliance program for all locations in Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, enhance, and implement HAZMAT/Environmental programs and policies to ensure compliance with government regulations.
  • Work with various teams within the organization to address issues and ensure company compliance with policies and procedures as well as government regulations.
  • Manage hazardous waste disposal programs for all store, supply chain, and corporate locations, and ensure program compliance.
  • Classify and manage all RONA's HAZMAT items, and provide hazardous materials program support and guidance to all store and supply chain locations.
  • Review and monitor hazardous waste generation rates for all store and supply chain locations to confirm compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent environmental compliance, hazardous waste management, or equivalent/relevant studies.
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in a position involving health and safety, environmental compliance, or hazardous waste.
  • Proven communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Confidence speaking in front of a group.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership, resourcefulness, and initiative.
