Job Title: Salt Truck Operator

Clintar Hamilton / Niagara Region, ON is seeking a skilled Salt Truck Operator to join our team. As a Salt Truck Operator, you will be responsible for operating a F550/F650/F750 truck equipped with a salt dispenser to apply salt to roadways, parking lots, and other designated areas.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate a F550/F650/F750 truck equipped with a salt dispenser to apply salt to roadways, parking lots, and other designated areas.
  • Maintain clean sites, ensuring no property damage during snow removal.
  • Respond to emergency calls for snow removal, especially during heavy snowfalls or severe weather conditions.
  • Maintain communication with supervisors or dispatch to report road conditions, progress, and any issues encountered.
  • Spread salt, sand, or other de-icing agents on road surfaces to enhance traction and melt ice.
  • Work in challenging weather conditions, including cold temperatures, snowstorms, and potentially at night, to ensure timely snow removal.
  • Maintain records of work completed, including time logs, equipment maintenance records, and reports on materials used.
  • Load own salt with wheel loader.
  • Provide professional service.
  • Follow all health & safety regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Valid and clean G driver's license - mandatory.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a previous snow removal role.
  • Flexible hours, often overnight, including weekends and holidays.
  • On-call availability from November - April.
  • Cell phone with data required.
