We are seeking an experienced Executive Director, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion to lead our efforts in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion within the organization. This role will oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive EDI framework, fostering a culture of inclusivity and addressing systemic barriers.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategic plans to advance equity, diversity, and inclusion within VCH
- Build and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to promote EDI initiatives
- Lead the development of educational programs and training initiatives to promote cultural competence and address health disparities
- Collaborate with VCH Indigenous Health to address systemic racism and promote Indigenous cultural safety
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote EDI and address systemic barriers
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff on EDI issues and promote a culture of inclusivity
- Masters' degree in a relevant field, such as Indigenous Studies, Equity, Inclusion and Diversity, Psychology, Sociology, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or a related discipline
- 15 years of leadership experience in developing and implementing organizational strategic initiatives to advance equity, diversity, and inclusion
- Proven track record of building relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong understanding of anti-racism principles, health care disparities, and cultural competence
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
